Summer Time in the City

eeeek! Its FINALLY summer! I am so excited! I took my last final in the NYU library today and I could not be happier! I can finally fully enjoy New York without having to come back to my room and study! My frist day of summer was full of 'first'- some of which you may not believe unless I got photos- so I made sure I did.

My first summer fling was to walk around on Canal Street. Fakes on fakes on fakes down there. I have never felt so scared in the middle of the daylight then I did walking around down there. Luckily there was a police officer every other block monitoring who bought what and such not. Walking down the street you hear people whispering...
"Sunglasses- you want Gucci? I have Gucci."
"Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel- Follow me"
"Perfume, we have perfume"
"Bags, bags, you want bag?"
If you want anything fake- just walk down Canal Street and you will find yourself a plethora of poor quality items.
Walking into the most decent shop we could find, I decided to haggle away and eventually pay what I wanted to- they went down 50%. Yes, I am proud of my haggling skills- some may call it whining or being needy but it was pretty useful this afternoon.

Tonight was full of some more 'firsts'- first time on a guest list in the City. The event was a Sip&Shop soiree hosted by Ammie Song at Piperlime. Ammie is a fashion blogger, check her out --> http://songofstyle.blogspot.com/. Upon ariving at Piperlime we were all given a cute tote bag. Little did I know that there was a gift card in everyone's bag... Thank god for my fellow interns who let me in on these well known secrets- well not really secrets since everyone else knew about it. Well anyways, it was a fabulous little shin-dig Piperlime hosted- I felt like a real adult.
We were able to sip on delicious gin-ger lime drinks while browsing around an awesome store. While sipping and shopping away with my fellow interns Zoe and Madeline I was talked into doing something so outside of the box. Something I may never do again- but now I can say I've done it. Its probably not as cool or as gross as I thought it would be- but if you know me this is something I would typically never ever think of doing. But I guess when in New York..
Okay I bet you are dying to know what I did. Well I did an oyster shooter...... still cringe every time I think about those two long seconds it took to do. Okay if you still dont believe me I have proof. *see below*
    Before                                                                                                           After
Yep. That actually happened.. maybe I should have Vined it.. YOLO? Well that was about it for the night, had a blast and a half. So thank you Piperlime and Aimee for a fabulous first night of summer soiree.

Now its time that I get back to watching the CREEPIEST movie- Obsessed- with my home girl Beyonce. I mean I have seen some pretty creepy movies aka The Call- it still scares me every time I think about it. but Obsessed is right up there with it. It has a 2.5 rating- but I think the suspense/ scare rating is about a 4.9 right now.

 xoxo

oh and this is my view walking home from the library today- doesn't it just scream SUMMER?
