So Juicy

So New York and I have been in a very love/hate relationship. I love it here, but I hate it. I am amazed at everything the city has to offer but I am baffled that in city of over eight million I am so lonely every day. I see thousands of people when I roam the city, but I am always alone. I hate it, but I love it. Everyday it seems that a majority of my day is spent around others, but I don't ever interact with them. One thing I do love about traveling alone is that I can see and do whatever I want and no one can stop me. I feel like superwoman.

Enough of my thoughts- you are reading this blog for the juicy details into my summer adventures. and let me tell you they are JUICY...
Friday June 14th-

Friday afternoon was beautiful here in the city, blue skies, little wind and just a tad humid- what more can a girl ask for? As long as it doesn't get humid this summer i'll be golden and return in one piece. Well not having any plans, I went to go do something new and took a nice walk around where I am living. I passed by this gelato place that I have heard people rave on about and decided to give it a little try. Being the only one in line who had no idea what was going on, I think created tension with the people behind me because I didn't know how it worked. SORRY, we don't have this where I'm from. Here's the low down...
1. Walk into Gelato place
2. Wait in an abnormally long line
3. Pay for the Gelato you haven't yet received
4. Wait a little longer till someone can help you
5. Give the receipt to the person helping you- where the tension first appeared. I couldn't find my receipt, no one told me I had to have it ready. Luckily I found it in a small pocket in my purse, it was harder to find that receipt than finding my way out of Central Park.
6. Try any and every flavor you want.
7. Tell him what flavor you want. If you are experienced customer you say the Italian name, if you are me you kind of point in the general direction of the flavors not remember if you liked it or not. It just looks pretty.
8. Wait for him to make your gelato
9. Stare in awe at the piece of art he is making with gelato
10. Eat the gelato- well not before you Instagram a picture of it
I could have skipped a few of those steps, but I wanted to make it a 10 step process.
So here is the deliciousness I was honored to have
Yep. It is in the shape of a rose. I cant tell you which flavors I had, it looks like two white ones, two brown ones and raspberry. by the way- it was an Instagram hit.

After getting this masterpiece I decided to walk to Washington Square Park and find a bench to eat it on. Little did I know, the park was crowded and a French romantic comedy movie was just about to start. For some strange reason- probably the alignment of the starts- I got a prime seat in the front, on a bench, while a majority of people were laying on the concrete- the french are so weird (and yes I am positive they are all French, they did a poll before the movie started and I think I was the only American- is this whole 'lonely' think making more sense?). Well I had to pay close attention to the movie because of the subtitles, but boy do the French have a good sense of humor! I was sitting next to this Woman from Germany who was fluent in 6 languages and I was sitting next to her like good thing I can read subtitles.........

Gorgeous view right? It was a perfect night for Films on the Green. Even though it was false advertising- no green, just concrete and a fountain. hmmm maybe next time i'll bring a floaty and relax in the fountain. It would probably be more comfortable then my dorm bed.

Oh, and the name of the movie was The Art Of Love- the French have an odd sense of love. Basically the movie was about girl A pimping out girl B to guy C. Guy C thought it was girl A but it was actually girl B- but he didnt find out for quite some time do to special arrangements. Guy C finally found out it was girl B and stopped talking to girl A and eventually ended up with girl B. There was also dog D, and elephant E as sub plots, not really. But if you were confused about that- just keep reading, its pretty pointless to go back and reread when you could easily just google it. If you are upset I gave away the ending you must be bonkers to not figure it out. I mean obviously guy A will end with girl B- its a proven Hollywood fact. Well Paris fact? Or wherever French film movies.

de toute facon ('anyways' in French)

You are really reading this post because I mentioned that there would be JUICY stories- and boy there's a lot of Juicy stuff. literally.
Just to keep you all updated on what I am doing at work,

Friday I got to do something so New York- It was awesome. I got to hail a taxi. I know, I know you are thinking "WOW! cool story Diana.." I know, its not the most exciting thing, but to me it was and that's all that matters.
Here I am hailing down a taxi for Alina and I. The DBA interns were put to hard labor, taking a taxi to the garment district to pick up some juicy stuff.
And let me tell you how happy I am to live through a New York taxi experience and be able to tell about it. I have slight post postpartum because of how physco our driver was. Going 50 down 5th ave is not something I ever want to do again. He only honked 5 times in a 5 minute drive- it was a short drive due to his speed.
Well we made it to the garment district in one piece, though I lost about 5 years of my life due to the stress I underwent.

Walking through garment district is very interesting, fabric is lining ever shop, in every color and style you could imagine. I did snag a photo of the spandex shop so you could see for yourself.

SO MUCH SPANDEX. You can get spandex in any color- I prefer the multi glitter prints- I think it brings out my eyes.

As for the Woody and Buzz- there are a select few who know my infatuation with this photo. As for everyone else, for some reason I find it hysterical, and any statement becomes ten times funnier when this photo is.

So back to the JUICY stuff I promised, while in the garment district we were sent to pick up Juicy tracksuits that were being monogrammed! For work I had to package Juicy gift boxes filled with Juicy items; perfume, sunglasses, shoes, monogrammed track suits- the usual.
Gosh, I thought they were just so adorable!

Okay, that probably wasn't the Juicy-ness  you were hoping for, but oh well!
xoxo
