Fa Fa Fa Fashion Time

I apologize for the delay in posts- I have now made friends in the city and have been having less and less time to write. But don't worry- I will get everyone up to speed.
In New York its about about fashion- and branding yourself. When you go into a job interview you need to sell yourself- and it doesn't hurt to be well dressed (at all times- unless its humid and hot then there is no hope).

Well I was lucky enough that my good friend (and sister) Camille asked me to go to a roofttop fashion show one day after work. Of course I said yes- I'm down to do anything with anyone in the city. I met her and a few other people at a hotel rooftop bar and awaited this fashion show. We had prime view of the city- it never gets old. I mean I could live in a pent house in New York City and be pretty happy. It's hard to have a bad view in the City- actually thats a huge lie. 90% of people have bad views here of just other people's windows- the other people live on the top floors- and as Carrie Bradshaw said- its where they keep all the light.

There is just something special about being on a rooftop of the city- you kind of feel invincible. Like no one can reach you- you are on top of the world. That is why I am a fan of any and every rooftop bar, well also partly because its a bar in general.
Well I may not be the biggest fashion person- I can generally say what is right or wrong- well the fashion show was wrong. I feel bad since it was the woman's first fashion show- but the clothes weren't tailored correctly, strings were hanging off, the models were just bad- very unprofessional. but oh well it was cool to watch. There were a few good things- but it basically looked like a forever21 runway show. If that is the look she is going for then well- she nailed it.

The one of the two dresses I really liked- this one was a basic LBD with an open back. And I heart anything black and anything with an open back. The other dress I loved was a multi colored (mostly purples and teals) long sleeve dress. Anything with sparkles makes it 10 times better. so props to whoever desined the clothes- I would have worn 2 out of 20 items. And If you ask my mom- that is quite a high percentage, since I can be rather picky (sorry for the past 21 Christmas's and birthday's when I had to return at least one thing).

Then the following day I got to work and was immediately sent out to the Soho House- an exclusive club (if you are an important someone then you are probably a member). I had no idea what I was being sent to do, all I knew was it was an Express event. When I walked into our room, I finally learned that I was helping out with the Express Fall Preview Party. Editors and Bloggers were invited to the party to get an exclusive look at the upcoming clothes and accessories.
It was SO MUCH FUN! I was able to work with two great girls from Express and a few other people from DBA throughout the day. As people would come to the party we would give a little tour of the merchandise and what the upcoming trends are. I was also able to plan out my fall wardrobe throughout the day.
One of the most fun parts of the event was seeing everyone take photos in the dedicated 'selfie mirror'. Guests were encouraged to try on items and play around with everything.
Well I was rather hesitant to take a selfie- one because I dont like taking them and two, I really really dont like taking them. But the whole 'when in New York' thing came up and it just happened..

Well I should probably update you all on what I am actually here in the city for- my internship. It can be very very very fun at times (thought I was going to say stressful weren't you?). I mean how often do you get to try on signed One Direction Jackets? hmmmmm probably never?

So aside from the fun stuff- I had to (and enjoyed it strangely) take inventory of the merchandise we got from Icing. They send us products so we can Instagram the items for them- because thats basically what we do here- we run social media accounts- welcome to the 21st century. While doing the inventory we came across a few..um... usual pieces? like these super bedazzled phone cases. Since they came in the iPhone 5 I decided to try it on.. MISTAKE. We thought it was was all funny till I wanted to take it off and put my other case back on... I think the idea behind the case is that you love it so much you never want to take it off. And eventually it will break and you have to buy a new one- good idea i guess?
Well I couldn't get it off, the other interns couldn't get it off, and we then had to ask from help from another girl in the office who had put one on her phone. We asked how she got her phone case off.. her response "My boyfriend used a hammer." A HAMMER
Well fear not- I think my stress of having to have that on my phone and the help of everyone and their prayers got the case off by the end of the day without a scratch.
I am back to my anchor case and all is well
