I think its partly due to the fact that sometimes I have conversations with myself while I'm walking. Sorry New Yorkers- I really only have myself to talk to. I walk for miles in the city and I usually try and call people while I am walking so I look less crazy. But eventually I am stuck with myself and the little voices in my head, sometimes I have thought about naming the voices- that's how close we are..
Well anyways- if you get a phone call from me, and dont answer it, just be aware that I am probably then walking down the streets talking to myself.
And no- im not like having a full on conversation to myself out loud. I'm not that crazy.
Well anyway its been a while since I have written. Oops. Sorry.
I know everyone keeps checking each day to see if I have written. Actually that is far from the truth. Besides when I post on facebook that I have written, only about 3 people check my blog daily. But I am pretty excited when I see that 500 or so people read my blog when I do post about it #Popular <-- I'm completely joking with that hashtag.
30 Rockefeller Plaza |
Well on to what you are actually reading this blog for- my adventures! I recently was able to tour MSNBC
at 30 Rockafeller Plaza- yes the place where 30 Rock was filmed, along with SNL and Jimmy Fallon and other news stations. I got in touch with Derrick Kitts (Thank you Stout Family!) and met him for lunch at 30 Rock, and then a special tour. It was very cool! We stopped by where SNL gets filmed- but due to rehersals the stage area was blocked off with curtins and you could not see inside. Well we were able to get a glimpse through the .00001 inch gap between the curtains and the wall which was very cool! We walked past where Jimmy Fallon gets filmed, ad were able to step into many stuios were news channels are filmed. I was even lucky enough to sit at the desk! After this tour I may have found a future in broadcasting.... I am literally laughing out loud at myself when I think of me as a broadcaster. I would laugh to much at things that weren't funny,
I would stutter over my lines, and probably always be looking at the wrong camera. Overall the tour was very cool and I enjoyed it very much!
I was so thankful that Derrick was able to meet and show me around! After the tour I took a pit stop at the NBC gift shop and found my friends! Remember how I had those little voice in my head... well they look something like a minion..
After walking through the gift shop and looking at overpriced coffee mugs, I walked to a child's dream land. A toy empire- FAO Schwarz. I turned into a little child the moment I saw the toy man outside. The iconic toy store is full of life size stuffed animals, a giant candy store, floor to celling toys or all sorts, an entire Barbie corner and a make your own doll station. I was in my childhood heaven. I was memorized by all the toys in there. I know I am 21 years old, but this was SO COOL! After wandering through the entire downstairs I was wanting to go to the next floor. I couldn't figure out how to get up though, when asking a near attendee who was holding a red bouncy ball- she frankly told me that I get strapped onto the red ball and bounced up to the second floor- I laughed. When I got to the second floor I immediately saw my younger self in heaven. The barbie corner. I was that girl who was obsessed with Barbies (my mom and dad will vouch for me). Barbie corner was beyond amazing. Words cannot describe it. When I was finally done wandering around upstairs, I could not find the way down- common occurrence for me that day. When I did ask an employee how to get down she casually told me I jump off the side of the balcony into the pit of oversides plush stuffed puppy animals. And for about 50 seconds I thought "that would be the coolest thing!!" Unfortunately she told me that I had to "Walk towards the wall of dinosaurs, take a left at lego land, pass the Muppet center and the escalator is behind dippin dots. That if I get to Hello Kitty section I have gone too far" I mean just to get downstairs sounded like fun!
