The Steps of The Met

Gossip Girl and Sex and the City have been my inspiration during my trip to New York City. Both feature strong independent women who don't take no crap off of nobody! (If you are one of the few people who got that movie reference I am proud of you and I want to know who you are- If you arent one of the talented few to recite lines randomly from Cool Runnings circa 1993- thats alright). The steps of the Met on Gossip Girl played a major role- Its where the power struggles went down at. The higher up on the steps- the higher up you were....

"Spotted on the steps of the Met: an S and B power struggle. Did S think she could waltz home and things would be just like they were? Did B think S would go down without a fight? Or can these two hotties work it out? There's nothing Gossip Girl likes more than a good cat fight. And this could be a classic." -Gossip Girl
"Would you do me a favor and move down a couple steps?" -Blair
"What are you going to do to me, Blair? Blackball me from eating yogurt on the Met steps?" -Vanessa
"There is no more hierarchy. The steps of the Met will no longer be restricted to a certain crowd. No more nair-tinis. No more headbands. This is a new ear. Let Freedom reign." -Jenny

So basically the Steps of the Met was an important thing for me to see while I was here. I stopped by the famous Laduree to try their macaroon's and eat them on the Met steps just like S and B would do.

I then spent the afternoon at the Met and realized one thing- I am not an Art Museum person. I saw a few things I liked and then was over it. But I stuck to it and continued to walk around the Met till I at least saw 75% of it- which was quite a bit. I was excited to go to the rooftop when I completed most of the exhibits- but COOOOL the rooftop closed since it sprinkled a little and they wouldnt be reopening it. I was going to use the rooftop (my guilty pleasure) as a treat for going through the museum which i found rather boring most of the time. I dont really care about ancient spoons or old pieces of wood or even photos of modern art that i could paint myself. like this piece...

Well the good part of this story that you are waiting for is coming up. After being a slight diva because my rooftop adventure wasnt going to happen- i will have to go back! I decided to walk through central park. I was leaving the Met and wanted a photo looking down (it made me feel like I was above S and B- but that lasted about hmmmm.... .2 seconds..) because I was trying to take a photo missed the step because they were not very thick and went tumbling down about 4 stairs. It was about 4pm when the stairs were full of people. The nice security man came rushing over and people asked if I was okay- I was fine- I just lost all dignity I had. And at that moment I realized that S and B would never be my friend.
